Pollination – A Key Factor for Ecosystems

PLN 8 million is the value of the project financed under our regional program (European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021-2027) aimed at biodiversity protection through the conservation of pollinating insects. One of the key elements of the project is the inventory of pollinators. The agreement with the project contractor, Feneco from Inowrocław, was signed today (February 10) in the presence of Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska.

The project aims, among other things, to investigate the causes of the decline in pollinator populations. The initiative is coordinated by the Gostynińsko-Włocławski Landscape Park in cooperation with other regional landscape parks. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but this task is crucial not only for nature conservation but also for raising awareness about the essential role these small creatures play in the ecosystem – said Vice-Marshal of the region, Aneta Jędrzejewska.

A team of 35 experts, including entomologists, is responsible for conducting a detailed environmental analysis and assessing the level of threat to pollinators. Their work will enable the development of recommendations for ecosystem protection, the implementation of corrective measures, and changes in environmental management.

In the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, there are ten landscape parks managed by the regional self-government:

  • Wdecki Landscape Park
  • Brodnicki Landscape Park
  • Gostynińsko-Włocławski Landscape Park
  • Górznieńsko-Lidzbarski Landscape Park
  • Krajeński Landscape Park
  • Nadgoplański Millennium Landscape Park (Nadgoplański Park Tysiąclecia)
  • Tucholski Landscape Park
  • The Association of Landscape Parks „Lower Vistula Valley”
