Polish Team for the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26

In just one week, the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26, the biggest athletics event of the year, will begin. The Polish national team consists of 32 outstanding athletes. The schedule of their competitions is presented below.

“It is a great honor for our region and proof that we consistently invest in sport. Kujawy and Pomorze are now the capital of Polish athletics, and we are very happy that the eyes of the entire athletics world will be focused on us,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The championship program includes three days of competition, with thirteen events for women and thirteen for men, as well as a mixed 4×400-meter relay. Women and men will compete for medals in the 60 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1500 m, and 3000 m races, 60 m hurdles, the 4×400 m relay, as well as in shot put, pole vault, long jump, high jump, and triple jump. Additionally, women will compete in the pentathlon, and men in the heptathlon.

“I am convinced that the championship schedule has been arranged very well, and there will be a lot happening during every session. We still have a very small number of tickets available for all morning sessions and the Friday afternoon session. Tickets for both Saturday and Sunday afternoons have long been sold out,” says Krzysztof Wolsztyński, director of the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26.

On the first day of the championships – Friday, March 20 – competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the heptathlon 60 m. Before noon, heptathletes will also compete in the long jump and shot put. The session will also feature the first final – the women’s high jump. Fans will also see, among others, Natalia Bukowiecka in the women’s 400 m heats.

In the Friday afternoon session – with athletes returning to the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena Toruń at 6:10 p.m. – the program includes finals in the women’s shot put, men’s triple jump, and men’s 60 m. There will also be 1500 m heats and 400 m semifinals.

During the Saturday morning session (March 21), spectators will watch the men’s high jump final and the mixed 4×400 m relay final. In the latter event, the Polish team is considered a strong medal contender. Fans will also see, among others, Ewa Swoboda in the 60 m heats and Jakub Szymański in the 60 m hurdles heats. The session will also include the 800 m semifinals.

The Saturday afternoon session promises to be exciting for many reasons – not only because of the finals in the 60 m (women), 400 m (women and men), and men’s 60 m hurdles. At 6:25 p.m., the men’s pole vault final will begin, in which the phenomenal Swede Armand Duplantis will compete for another success in the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena Toruń, where he once set his first-ever world record. Athletes will also compete for medals in the 3000 m races, and the heptathlon will conclude.

On Sunday (March 22), pentathletes will compete for medals, including Paulina Ligarska and Adrianna Sułek-Schubert. Three events – 60 m hurdles, high jump, and shot put – will take place in the morning session, while the long jump and 800 m will be held in the evening session.

In addition, spectators will see the women’s long jump final, the men’s shot-put final, the 4×400 m relay heats, and the 60 m hurdles heats featuring Pia Skrzyszowska. The final of that event will take place on Sunday evening, along with the 800 m and 1500 m finals, the men’s long jump final, and the women’s pole vault final.

The final events of the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26 will be the 4×400 m relay finals – men at 8:26 p.m. and women at 8:47 p.m.
