Our Warmest Wishes for U.S. Soldiers
At the invitation of the commander of the artillery brigade of the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division stationed in Toruń, Marshal Piotr Całbecki visited today (27 November) the American soldiers living and training at the Toruń military range. The visit was connected with the celebration of Thanksgiving Day in the United States.
“On the occasion of Thanksgiving, I thanked the Americans working and training in our region for their service and extended to them my best wishes on behalf of our regional community. In the current situation in Europe, their presence is more important than ever. U.S. forces on the European continent are a guarantee of our security,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The host of the meeting was the commander of the U.S. brigade in Toruń, Col. Matthew VanGilder. Marshal Piotr Całbecki joined the soldiers for a traditional holiday lunch consisting of roasted turkey, ribs, cornbread, and sweet potatoes with marshmallows.
The self-government of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region has for many years cooperated closely with U.S. and NATO military structures operating in our area. Soldiers of allied armies participate in important official public events, including the celebration of Poland’s National Independence Day.
