INFORMATION PORTAL OF THE MARSHAL'S OFFICE OF THE KUJAWSKO-POMORSKIE Region IN TORUŃ

Ninety municipal plenipotentiaries and coordinators of local programmes for the prevention and resolution of alcohol-related problems and counteracting drug addiction are taking part in today’s (14 November) meeting on addiction prevention in the region, held at the Filmar Hotel in Toruń.

“Members of the municipal commissions for solving alcohol-related problems and coordinators of prevention programmes in our region face addiction issues every day. During meetings like this, they share their knowledge and experience, which they can apply in their communities to prevent addictions,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Representatives of sixty local governments from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship are exchanging experiences regarding forms of addiction treatment during the event. In a panel of experts in sociology, psychotherapy, and public health, participants heard, among other things, about risks and forms of support for people struggling with addictions—particularly digital addiction. The invited experts speaking at the meeting include sociologist and president of the Dbam o Mój Zasięg Foundation, Dr. Maciej Dębski; public health specialist and author of prevention programmes, Rafał Guza; and psychotherapist and academic lecturer, Dr. Robert Rejniak.

The meeting also featured a presentation of the latest survey results regarding addictions among young people in the region.
