November in Kujawsko-Pomorskie Smells of Goose

Cooking shows, tastings, a fair of regional products and handicrafts – a two-day annual Kujawsko-Pomorskie Goose Festival took place in the square next to the former building of the Agricultural Advisory Centre in Przysiek. Goose delicacies once again became a symbol of family celebration of National Independence Day in the region.

“In the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region, we have created a beautiful tradition of celebrating together with goose dishes,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Goose Festival in Przysiek

On November 10–11, the largest event in Poland promoting goose meat was held in Przysiek. During the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Goose Festival, visitors could taste regional dishes, visit a market featuring local products, and watch live cooking shows by well-known chefs – Michel Moran, Marieta Marecka, Sebastian Olma, and Piotr Lenart.

More than one hundred exhibitors from all over the country awaited visitors, offering fresh goose meat, goose-based dishes, regional food products, organic preserves, and artisanal crafts.

There was also live music, prize competitions, attractions for children, and a family relaxation zone. The event was an excellent opportunity to enjoy unique dishes and spend time together in a warm, festive atmosphere.

Competitions and Family Celebration

This year’s edition of the goose-themed initiative abounded in numerous attractions and contests. We encourage residents of the region to take part in our competition for the best photo story of celebrating National Independence Day with goose dishes. Entries are open until November 21.

There were also events dedicated to the youngest participants. The art contest “Sporty Goose” attracted much attention – winners will receive attractive prizes such as art sets, books, board games, building blocks, and shopping vouchers.

As part of the campaign, several contests announced in the media were also concluded – 2,025 geese were distributed to residents of twenty towns in the voivodeship, symbolically reminding everyone of celebrating together at the family table and of the traditional taste of Kujawsko-Pomorskie specialties.

Food Truck and Workshops for Young Chefs

A special Goose Food Truck also toured the voivodeship, serving goose delicacies in eight towns across the region. Culinary school students participated in workshops, learning modern techniques for preparing traditional dishes.

The workshops were held at:

  • the Gastronomy and Hotel Management School Complex in Toruń,
  • the Technical School of Gastronomic Organization in Włocławek,
  • the Gastronomy and Hotel Management School Complex in Bydgoszcz,
  • the Tuchola Center for Vocational Education,
  • the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Special Educational Centre No. 2 in Bydgoszcz,
  • the Agricultural School Complex in Przemystka,
  • the Gastronomy and Hotel Management School Complex in Inowrocław, and
  • the Gastronomy and Hotel Management School Complex in Grudziądz.

“Time for Goose” – Nationwide Restaurant Campaign

The nationwide campaign “Time for Goose” has also started once again, with restaurants across Poland joining in. Their menus will feature goose dishes – both traditional and modern interpretations.

More than 200 restaurants are taking part in the initiative, promoting Polish culinary traditions at their finest.
