NGOs Promote Physical Culture and Sports

This year, a quarter of a million złoty will be allocated to non-governmental organizations in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region to support initiatives promoting physical activity and sports. These funds will enable the regional team to participate in national youth competitions and will also help organize regional-level tournaments for young athletes.

“Physical activity plays a crucial role at every stage of our lives. The earlier we become interested in sports, the greater the chance that it will accompany us throughout life. That’s why we place such a strong emphasis on promoting sports competition among children and young people. Physical activity and the associated sports spirit have a significant impact on their mental, physical, and social development,” emphasizes the Marshal of the Region, Piotr Całbecki.

The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Association of Sports Federations in Bydgoszcz received funding through an open call for proposals aimed at promoting and developing physical culture and sports. The total financial support from the regional budget amounts to 180,000 złoty, which will cover the participation of the regional team in the finals of the 31st National Youth Olympics in Indoor Summer Sports and the organization of regional championships across various sports disciplines and age categories.

An additional 70,000 złoty will be allocated to the School Sports Association of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region in Bydgoszcz. This funding will support the organization of sports competitions for children and youth from primary and secondary schools.

Every year, the Marshal’s Office supports projects carried out by NGOs in areas such as culture, sports, addiction prevention, social assistance, healthcare, tourism, activities for people with disabilities, and the development of civil society. This year, over 6.5 million złoty has been allocated across 22 competitions.
