New Year’s Eve with Polsat in Toruń: We Had a Wonderful Audience!

– “From Toruń, in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, New Year’s wishes most important to Poles this evening were broadcast to four million people. Hosting an event in which all of Poland participated is a great honor for us,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki during a media briefing today (January 3) alongside Toruń Mayor Paweł Gulewski, summarizing the “New Year’s Eve Power of Hits” with Polsat.

During the meeting, those involved in organizing the event highlighted that the “New Year’s Eve Power of Hits” was conducted safely. On Tuesday and Wednesday (December 31 and January 1), no incidents occurred on the Old Town Square in Toruń that would have threatened the safety of concert attendees.

– “First and foremost, I want to thank the audience. During the concert, we saw smiling faces of people having a fantastic time. Thousands of attendees on the Old Town Square prioritized safety. Participants ensured that nothing disrupted the celebration. We had a wonderful audience—not only from Toruń and the region but from all over the country!” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The Marshal of the Region praised the courage of Toruń’s Mayor, Paweł Gulewski, and the organizers for deciding to host the “New Year’s Eve Power of Hits” in Toruń. Thanks to this decision, the region benefited significantly from increased promotion. During the concert, which was broadcast live from Toruń’s market square, the hosts presented millions of TV viewers with some of the most interesting places in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.

The Marshal also extended his gratitude to the institutions involved in organizing the concert, particularly the services responsible for ensuring safety: – “You did an excellent job. Together, we demonstrated that we are capable of organizing fantastic events. Thank you to everyone who contributed to creating this incredible artistic experience. The Regional Self-Government was delighted to participate in organizing this undertaking,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The Regional Self-Government arranged six special trains on the night of January 1 to transport attendees from outside Toruń back to over 70 towns within the region. The service was highly popular, with over 500 attendees traveling toward Bydgoszcz alone. The police ensured the safety of passengers on their way to stations, while Railway Protection Service officers maintained order at the stations and platforms.
