New EFKP contracts

PLN 70 million worth of project funding agreements handed over today to the beneficiaries of our regional programme, European Funds for Kujawsko-Pomorskie. Among other things, we are releasing funds for two major investments by the Inowrocław city council, which is buying electric buses and charging stations for them and modernising public transport stops. A formal meeting with representatives of the entities responsible for implementing the projects was attended by the President of the Regional Parliament, Elżbieta Piniewska, and a member of the regional board, Marek Wojtkowski.

Inowrocław’s local authorities are planning to purchase 5 low-floor electrically-powered buses and charging infrastructure, as well as modernising the city’s bus stops, where, among other things, ticket machines and monitoring will be installed. The total value of the funding is PLN 24 million. Lipno is also planning two investment projects: to modernise and equip the city’s public library and new municipal green areas. The total value of the grants is PLN 3 million.

The so-called soft social projects included in today’s agreements include projects in the field of care services for seniors in need of support in their daily life, and projects in the field of education aimed at raising the level of public education and equalising educational opportunities.

Citing the Inowrocław local authority’s investments as an example, President Elżbieta Piniewska stressed to the audience that the funds provided today will directly benefit the residents and that there is no money better spent.

We are at the halfway point in the implementation of the regional programme of the current perspective – contracting amounts to 47 per cent, which means a commitment of PLN 3.6 billion – and we are [in this respect] fourth in the country,’ Marek Wojtkowski informed the regional government.
