More trains from 15 June

The seaside beaches and the heart of the Tuchola Forest can be reached by seasonal direct regional trains during the summer holidays. In a matter of days, we will be able to reach the most popular resorts on the Baltic coast and in the forests of the Tuchola region via the ‘Lighthouse’, “Rybitwa” and ‘Borsuk’ trains. In addition, from 15 June, 37 new trains will go out on tracks, covering half a million kilometres this year.

“We are launching thirty-seven new regular regional rail services. We have an interesting and extensive range of connections tailored to the needs of travellers. The regional self-government maintains over three hundred connections a day. Thanks to good co-operation with the carriers, we are managing to build an increasingly better network of rail connections step by step” stressed Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

“The holiday courses will be the most attractive. We will travel to Bory Tucholskie on the ‘Borsuk’ train, to Hel on the “Lighthouse”, and to Kołobrzeg – after a year’s break – on the ‘Rybitwa’. More trains will also run to Lipno and Unisław” said Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska.

In mid-June, new connections will be launched not only to Kołobrzeg and Hel, but also to Bydgoszcz, Grudziądz, Chełmża (Toruń poviat), Skępe (Lipno poviat) and Tleń (Świecie poviat). The additional trains will cover half a million kilometres by the end of the year, at a cost of 12.5 million PLN to run the new regional courses.

To the sea and the Tuchola Forest

Following a break of several years, a seasonal direct daily train to Hel will depart from Bydgoszcz Główna station on 19 June, stopping at popular resorts on the Hel Peninsula and at Tricity railway stations. The connection will also benefit the inhabitants of Grudziądz, who will be taken by an additional train to transfer to this service in Laskowice Pomorskie.

Also new to the summer timetable is the ‘Borsuk’ train, which from 28 June will run daily through the Tuchola Forest and Wdecki Landscape Park from Toruń to Czersk ( Pomorskie Region), stopping, among others, at stations in Tleń and Osie.

Also from 28 June, a holiday weekend direct train “Rybitwa” from Toruń to Kołobrzeg will return to the timetable.

The seasonal offer is complemented by a new direct train to the West Coast, which from 16 June on weekdays (Monday to Friday) will run on the Bydgoszcz – Kołobrzeg route.

Other connections (from 15 June):

  • 2 pairs of trains on the line Toruń – Skępe (on working days),
  • 1 pair of trains from Toruń to Lipno (on working days),
  • additional pair of trains on the line Toruń – Skępe (from 1 September),

The changes are the response of the regional self-government, which is the organiser of rail passenger transport in Kujawsko-Pomorskie, to the demands of local residents.

The regional self-government, which is the organiser of rail passenger transport in the region, will allocate PLN 237 million in subsidies this year. This amount includes the costs of compensation for Arriva and Polregio as well as the costs of access to railway infrastructure and station fees – PLN 31.3 million. We also own three quarters of the trains (37 trainsets) operating passenger services in our region.
