More road investments ahead

A contract signing ceremony with the contractors for modernization works on Regional Road No. 240 in Świecie County and Regional Road No. 412 in Inowrocław County took place today (May 9) with the participation of Marshal Piotr Całbecki and President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska.

“The results of our efforts in road infrastructure are visible in every county. In addition to large-scale projects, we are implementing dozens of smaller tasks that improve safety for all road users,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “We are not only modernizing existing roads, but also building new sections of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Roads, creating a functional transportation network across the region.”

The modernization of a 3-kilometer section of Regional Road No. 240 in Błądzim (from the border of the Lniano municipality to the Rykowisko Inn) will be carried out by Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Dróg i Mostów from Świecie. The works, worth 4.9 million PLN, will include:

  • demolition works
  • resurfacing of the road pavement
  • reconstruction of road shoulders
  • restoration of roadside ditches
  • repair and renovation of existing driveways and road intersections
  • restoration of horizontal road markings
  • replacement of vertical signs and delineator posts.

As a separate project this year, the renovation of a 0.5-kilometer section from the railway crossing in Błądzim toward Tuchola is also planned. A tender procedure to select a contractor is currently ongoing.

In recent years, several other projects have been carried out on Regional Road No. 240, including:

  • reconstruction of the overpass in Terespol Pomorski
  • modernization of the section from Tuchola to Bysław, including the construction of the Płazowo bypass and bicycle paths
  • reconstruction of the section from Polski Konopat to the S5 junction, also including bicycle path construction
  • modernization of road sections running through Lubiewice, Przysiersk, and Franciszkowo
  • installation of traffic lights in Bysław.

In Inowrocław County, works will soon begin on the reconstruction of Regional Road No. 412 between Przedbojewice and Rożniaty. The investment, worth 3.2 million PLN, will be carried out by Inodrog, a company based in Inowrocław. The project includes:

  • laying new layers of road pavement
  • strengthening of road shoulders
  • elevation adjustments of existing intersections and driveways
  • restoration (deepening) of drainage ditches
  • replacement of vertical road signs and installation of horizontal markings.

In previous years, along with the construction of the Inowrocław bypass, a new section of this road was built within the road junction in Przedbojewice. A roundabout was created at the connection with National Road No. 62.

Several other projects involving the modernization of various sections of Regional Roads are currently at the tender stage.

Record-breaking spending

Over 2 billion PLN has been allocated to the Regional Road modernization program for the coming years. Under the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027 (FEdKP 2021–2027), 136 million EUR is allocated to road investments, including the regional bypass construction program. Additional funding from central sources will also be used for road infrastructure development (approx. 170 million PLN for bypasses and about 450 million PLN for the expansion of other roads).
