Modern buses for Christmas
The regional government has purchased forty modern, environmentally friendly, comfortable buses for PLN 125 million, with support from the National Reconstruction Plan (KPO). The first vehicles will hit the roads of our region this winter. Today’s (30 May) ceremonial signing of the contracts was attended by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska and President of ABP Bus & Coach Radosław Pankau, who represents the Iveco group in Poland.
“Bus transport is an important part of public transport organised by the regional government. I am glad that we have purchased forty modern and environmentally friendly vehicles, 15 hybrid and 25 electric, for which we have received record support from the National Reconstruction Plan amounting to PLN 91 million,” emphasised Marshal Piotr Całbecki at the meeting.
‘The fleet of our company, Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy, has over three hundred vehicles. Thanks to the purchased buses, we will modernise our fleet and improve the comfort of travel,’ added Deputy Marshal of the Province Aneta Jędrzejewska.
The buses purchased by the regional government will make travelling easier for people with disabilities. Passengers will sit in comfortable seats equipped with integrated headrests, armrests and seat belts. The vehicles will also feature a passenger information system with an information board, a modern sound system and a Wi-Fi router. Each bus will carry 50 passengers.
The first 5 hybrid and 8 electric buses will arrive in December.

From 1 July, we will expand our offer with two new routes dedicated to passengers commuting to work in the Brzeska Economic Zone (Włocławek County).
The regional government will allocate PLN 7 million this year to maintain 70 bus routes in the region. The total annual cost of bus transport services is PLN 27 million. We have obtained funding for all connections from the Bus Transport Development Fund.
