May each day bring joy!
Three extraordinary women have been awarded the Marshal’s Unitas Durat Palatinatus Cuiaviano-Pomeraniensis medal. Mrs. Stanisława Rojewska from Lipno, Aniela Słowińska from Wola Kożuszkowa (Inowrocław County), and Emilia Kasperska, a resident of Dobrzejewice near Toruń, despite the passing years, continue to impress with their life energy and cheerful disposition.
Stanisława Rojewska, an exemplary housewife, whose kitchen has always been filled with aromatic scents. She also has a talent for flowers, and her knowledge of their care could embarrass many gardeners. However, she has always placed family first and warmly welcomes them into her home. To mark her 100th birthday, she was visited by the Vice-Marshal of the Region, Aneta Jędrzejewska.
Mrs. Stanisława, born on December 27, 1924, in Lipiny (Lipno County), experienced both the hardships of war and the joys of motherhood and family life. She spent her childhood surrounded by loved ones and dedicated her adulthood to hard work on the farm. After the war, she married Tadeusz, and together they raised four daughters. Farm life was an inseparable part of the Rojewski family’s life. After retiring, they moved to Lipno, where Stanisława still resides. She is a happy grandmother of nine grandchildren and has been actively involved in their upbringing. Until recently, she took great pleasure in tending to her garden, particularly fond of violets, geraniums, and lilies. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting. However, her greatest satisfaction came from cooking, and her specialty was czernina (duck blood soup).
Aniela Słowińska, a woman whose life was marked by wartime trauma, but also by strength and resilience, celebrated her 100th birthday in a festive atmosphere on January 15. The celebrant was visited by the President of the Regional Parliament, Elżbieta Piniewska, and representatives of the local authorities.
She was born in 1925 in Wola Kożuszkowa near Mogilno. She has permanently tied her life to her hometown. During World War II, she was forced to work on a German farm and was later deported to Kłodawa. In 1955, she married Henryk Słowiński. Raising two daughters and two sons, she ran a farm with her husband. She has a large family and enjoys good health, valuing time spent outdoors and enjoying walks. Activity, faith, and healthy eating are the sources of her well-being.
Emilia Kasperska celebrated her 100th birthday (born January 6, 1925, in Sypniewo, Mazowieckie Region) with friends and family, with the Vice-President of the Region Parliament, Katarzyna Lubańska, and representatives of the Toruń County and Obrowo Municipality authorities present.
Deported to Masuria during the war, Emilia found work on a German farm. There, she experienced difficult working conditions and unfair treatment. However, fate smiled upon her when she was transferred to another family, who showed her kindness and care. After the war, she married Bronisław Kasperski. The couple settled in Toruń, where Mr. Bronisław worked for Elana and Mrs. Emilia worked at the Municipal Hospital on Batorego Street. Her work in healthcare became her lifelong passion, and her warmth and respect for patients made her well-liked by them. Many people recall how she cared for them, serving them tea and attending to their comfort. While working professionally, she also dedicated herself to raising two children, a son and a daughter, and caring for her granddaughter. After her husband’s death, she moved to Dobrzejewice near Toruń.
Since 2018, the regional government has honored centenarians in the region, with over four hundred people having received the Unitas Durat medal to date.
