Marshal’s Charity Ball for the thirteenth time

The Special Educational Center of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Elizabeth in Grudziądz is a beneficiary of the 13th Marshal’s Charity Ball, which will be held on Saturday (January 18) at the Jordanki Cultural and Convention Center in Toruń. Traditionally, part of the funds will also go to beneficiaries of previous editions.

 

The annual ball is a unique event, during which we open our hearts. A sense of community and then implementing charity into our daily lives and helping those in need make us better people, said Marshal Piotr Całbecki during the inauguration of last year’s event. – In our region there are many wonderful people with big hearts who help others. The ball is one form of such help.

 

The Special Educational Center of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Elizabeth in Grudziądz helps boys with intellectual disabilities and special educational needs by conducting revalidation, educational, rehabilitation and therapeutic activities. The center’s staff takes care of 43 boys from different backgrounds from the age of six to 24. The wards participate in individual and group activities, receive assistance with schooling, learn to read and write, and acquire practical skills. Young people also prepare for adult life through vocational training.

Natasha Urbanska, who will perform with her band and dancers, will be the star of this year’s ball. Musical setting will be provided by the Eliasz Orchestra from Bydgoszcz and the Pomeranian Philharmonic String Quintet. The Song and Dance Ensemble Ziemia Bydgoska and the Military Orchestra from Bydgoszcz will also perform during the event.

  • The Good Shepherd Home for Single Mothers in Żołędów, run by the Congregation of the Shepherd Sisters of Divine Providence

  • Social Welfare Home in Świecie run by the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paulo
  • Hospice for Children “Nadzieja” in Toruń

  • Social Welfare Home in Kamień Krajeński (Sępólno County)
  • Care and Education Facility for Girls in Pniewitem (Chełmno County)
