Marshal of the Region and President of the Regional Parliament Visit Nakło

Marshal Piotr Całbecki and the President of the Region Parliament, Elżbieta Piniewska, are visiting Nakło nad Notecią today (9 January), where they are meeting with representatives of local self-government authorities and inspecting the city’s key investments.

Marshal Piotr Całbecki and Chair Elżbieta Piniewska were welcomed by the Nakło County Governor (Starosta) Krzysztof Błoński, the Deputy Mayor of the Town and Municipality of Nakło nad Notecią, Piotr Kalamon, and the President of the Nakło Municipal Council, Paweł Wiśniewski. The talks focused, among other things, on the most important investments in this part of the region – both ongoing and planned – financed from funds administered by the Region Marshal’s Office, as well as those remaining under the responsibility of the national government.

The hosts presented to the Marshal of the Region and the President of the Region Parliament, among other projects, the new headquarters of the County and Municipal Public Library, opened in May. The modern facility, located next to the municipal cultural center, makes use of the latest solutions currently applied in this type of institution in Poland, including open-access library spaces.

Among the investments presented – completed or currently underway – were a park & ride parking facility and an underground passage near the railway station, a stadium, a skatepark, a new sports hall, and a newly built amphitheater. Planned investments include the construction of a multi-level rail-road intersection in the area of Pocztowa and Mickiewicza streets, as well as a multi-storey car park.
