Making it easier to get to work

Two new bus routes and the extension of the transport offer to include night and Sunday courses to the Brest Economic Zone (BSG) are the response of the regional government, which organises bus passenger transport in the region, to requests from businesses and employees. The new courses will start on 1 July.

I am delighted with the development of the Brzeska Economic Zone, where more and more of the region’s residents are finding employment. By launching new bus connections, we are making it easier for employees to get to work, while also contributing to the economic development of our voivodship,” emphasised Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The timetable has been arranged in such a way as to ensure that those employed in the Brzeska Economic Zone commute to and from work from the night shift and on Sundays. The service of the courses will be provided by the Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy company.

A total of PLN 900,000 (PLN 300,000 from the provincial budget) will be spent on the maintenance of the five bus lines from 1 July to the end of the year. To operate all seventy lines in 2025 in the region, we are allocating PLN 7 million from the provincial budget. The total annual cost of operating bus transport is PLN 27 million. We have obtained funding for all routes from the Bus Transport Development Fund.

The regional government is consistently developing and modernising bus transport in the region. In 2024, we have launched a further eight new routes and purchased 25 electric and 15 hybrid low-floor buses to serve intercity lines in our province.

The investment areas of the Brzeska Economic Zone are located in the vicinity of the A1 motorway in the Włocławek district. More than a dozen companies operating within the zone’s boundaries have employed 2,500 workers, whose number is steadily increasing. The Anwis company will soon start operating there, and another entity, Sika Poland, has begun recruiting employees.

Bus connections in numbers:

  • 70 bus connections are maintained by the regional government
  • 27 million PLN costs the annual maintenance of all bus lines in the region
  • 91 million PLN was obtained for the purchase of bus rolling stock
  • 40 ecological vehicles purchased
  • 1.2 million PLN costs the annual maintenance of 5 courses to the Brzeska Economic Zone
