Łysomice – We’re Mapping Out Corridors for New Roads
We are continuing work on planning a road that will connect the A1 motorway with national road no. 91, which will divert transit traffic away from Łysomice near Toruń. We have commissioned the preparation of a corridor study that will take into account the proposals of local residents and governments, as well as plans for road development in this part of the region.
“To create a safe and functional road system that will solve problems at this key intersection, it was necessary to extend the design work beyond the regional road network — something also requested by residents and local authorities,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “The key task is to develop a solution that also considers other road investments planned for implementation in the coming years. We expect to have the documentation ready next year.”
The documentation will primarily include an analysis of the potential route for a regional road section connecting the A1 motorway near the Turzno junction with national road 91 in the Ostaszewo/Łysomice area, including the possibility of extending the road further west.
The analysis will take into account both ongoing and planned infrastructure projects in the northern part of Toruń and much of the Toruń County, in particular:
- expansion of national road 91 in Łysomice (GDDKiA),
- expansion of national road 10 in Lubicz (GDDKiA),
- expansion of national road 15 in Grębocin (GDDKiA),
- planned expansion of national road 15 to a dual carriageway (2×2) between Grębocin and Lipnica (GDDKiA),
- planned construction of a new bridge over the Vistula River on the western side of Toruń, and other projects undertaken by the City of Toruń (MZD Toruń).
The objectives of the corridor study include:
- identifying location factors relevant to the planned road corridor,
- providing preliminary estimates of technical parameters and financial costs,
- developing at least three alternative corridor options with proposals for connections to the existing road network, while considering the possibility of continuing the route westward (from DK 91 to DW 553 and, in the longer term, to DK 80).
The planned regional road is expected to serve as an extension of the Łysomice bypass along regional road no. 552 and will meet the standards of a class G (main) road. The proposed route variants will be compared with the spatial development plan of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, as well as local and municipal spatial plans and other relevant planning documents. The contractor will obtain information from utility operators regarding existing and planned infrastructure to ensure it is reflected in the study.
We have secured a record €136 million from the new EU financial perspective for road expansion and modernization. Additionally, nearly PLN 170 million has been obtained from national funds for bypass construction. We have also signed a number of co-financing agreements with local governments.
The second stage of the Mogilno bypass is currently under construction. Documentation is being prepared for twelve more modern road projects:
- Tuchola – an information meeting for residents was held in July with designers; an application for a road construction permit is planned early next year.
- Mogilno – the contractor has completed nearly half of the physical scope of works.
- Brodnica – awaiting a road construction permit (ZRID) following resubmission of the project.
- Więcbork – project work in progress.
- Rypin – public consultations held; environmental decision pending.
- Lisewo – project documentation under revision.
- Chełmża – consultations completed; concept design underway; environmental decision in progress.
- Golub-Dobrzyń – consultations completed; concept design in progress; environmental decision in progress.
- Radzyń Chełmiński – consultations completed; concept design in progress; environmental decision in progress.
- Sępólno Krajeńskie – project work nearing completion, coordinated with GDDKiA.
- Trląg – preparations for construction tender.
- Białe Błota – tender announced for a technical-economic-environmental study (STEŚ).
