LAG Agreements – Grants for Local Initiatives for Young People and Seniors
Under the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027 programme, local communities can obtain funding for a variety of community activation initiatives. Support is distributed through calls for grant projects announced by Local Action Groups (LAGs). In the coming days, two of them – the “Communes of Świecie County” Local Action Group and the Dobrzyń Communes North Region Local Action Group Association – will sign grant agreements with beneficiaries for initiatives involving the establishment of youth clubs, senior clubs and additional Local Knowledge and Education Centres (LOWE) in our region.
“Local Action Groups are organisations created by residents, non-governmental organisations and local governments. Their members work closely with local communities and therefore understand best how to engage residents and respond to their needs. The funds we allocate to LAG activities support many socially important initiatives,” emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
Representatives of the “Communes of Świecie County” Local Action Group will sign 11 grant agreements worth more than PLN 1 million for the establishment of youth clubs. The ceremony will take place on 25 June at 10:00 a.m. at the LAG headquarters in Świecie, ul. Chmielniki 2b.
The Dobrzyń Communes North Region Local Action Group Association will sign agreements with beneficiaries for projects in three areas: youth clubs, senior clubs and Local Knowledge and Education Centres (LOWE). The total value of the grants exceeds PLN 2.4 million. The signing ceremony will be held on 29 June at 1:00 p.m. at the “Katolik” Social Activity Centre in Rypin, ul. Kościuszki 10.
There are 27 Local Action Groups operating in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region (LAG map). They operate in both urban and rural areas and make use of European Union funds managed by the Marshal’s Office, as well as resources provided through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument.
By placing financial resources and the tools to manage them directly in the hands of local communities, we are creating a regional-scale participatory budget. Kujawy and Pomorze is the only region in Poland implementing CLLD on such a large scale.
