LAG Agreements – Grants for Local Initiatives for Young People and Seniors

As part of the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021 – 2027 programme, funding is available for various forms of local community activation. Support is distributed through calls for grant projects announced by Local Action Groups (LAGs). In the coming days, two of them – the “Three Valleys” Local Action Group and the “Wąbrzeźno Land” Local Action Group – will sign agreements for initiatives aimed at activating people aged 60+ and establishing youth clubs.

“Local Action Groups are organizations created by residents, non-governmental organizations, and local governments. Their members work closely with local communities and therefore know best how to activate residents and respond to their needs. The funds we provide for LAG activities are used for many socially important initiatives,” emphasizes Piotr Całbecki, Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.

  • Representatives of the “Three Valleys” Local Action Group will award 18 grant agreements worth more than PLN 1.6 million for the establishment of senior clubs. The ceremony will take place on 18 June at 3:00 p.m. at the Solec Kujawski Community Cultural Centre, ul. Gen. Stefana Roweckiego-Grota 1.
  • The “Wąbrzeźno Land” Local Action Group will award 8 grant agreements worth more than PLN 570,000 for the establishment and operation of youth clubs. The agreements will be presented to beneficiaries on 22 June at 4:00 p.m. at the Wąbrzeźno Cultural Centre, ul. Wolności 47.

There are 28 Local Action Groups operating in our region. They operate in both urban and rural areas and make use of European Union funds administered by the Marshal’s Office, as well as funding provided through the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument. By entrusting local communities with both financial resources and the tools needed to use them, we are effectively creating a regional-scale participatory budget. Kujawsko-Pomorskie is the only region in Poland implementing CLLD on such a large scale.
