Kujawsko-Pomorskie Innovation Forum in Toruń

The three-day international Kujawsko-Pomorskie Forum of Innovation, Science, Business, and Local Government (November 5–7) is currently underway in Toruń. Among the participants is Marshal Piotr Całbecki, who took part in the “Leaders of Innovation of Pomorze and Kujawy” awards gala. The final day of the event will focus on education, the mental and physical health of young people, responsible media use, and fostering students’ passion for science.

“The key to regional development lies primarily in open minds, the ability to harness potential, and the cooperation and engagement of representatives from science, business, and local government,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “I am convinced that the discussions held within this distinguished circle will provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, and will inspire the search for new solutions and initiatives that strengthen collaboration between business and science.”

Opening Gala and the Czochralski Monocrystal Awards

During the opening gala, attended by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, the Czochralski Monocrystal statuettes were presented — awards of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Science and Technology Centre recognizing individuals and institutions for outstanding contributions to research development, technology transfer, and the promotion of collaboration between academia and industry.

This year’s laureates were:

  • habil. Marian Gorynia, corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences
  • Jan Czochralski Primary School in Kcynia

The event was inaugurated by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, Prof. Dr. habil. Bogusław Buszewski, President of the Prof. Jan Czochralski Kujawsko-Pomorskie Science and Technology Centre, and Michał Korolko, President of the Toruń Regional Development Agency S.A.

The second day of the Forum, held under the theme “Science Without Borders – Security”, was devoted to issues of information, medical, food, and defense security.

During the event, companies and academic enterprises that prioritize growth and innovation were also recognized. A total of 26 awards and distinctions were presented. The “Leaders of Innovation of Pomorze and Kujawy” award gala took place yesterday (November 6) as part of the Forum of Innovation, Science, Business, and Local Government.

The “Innovative Regional Brand InnoMare. Made in Kujawsko-Pomorskie” certificate was awarded to the Laboratory of Materials and Structures Testing at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology (named after Jan and Jędrzej Śniadecki) for the project “The Laboratory of Materials and Structures Testing as a Basis for Increasing the Competitiveness of Regional Companies.”

The event is organized by the Prof. Jan Czochralski Kujawsko-Pomorskie Science and Technology Centre, in cooperation with the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Self-Government and the Toruń Regional Development Agency S.A.

The Forum is co-financed by the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027.
