Kujawsko-Pomorskie Goose for St. Martin’s Day

As part of our annual campaign, residents of Kujawy and Pomorze received 2,025 goose carcasses on Saturday (October 25) as prizes in contests organized by local and regional media. But that’s just the beginning of the fun – as tradition dictates, we’ve also prepared our own competitions, including the art contest “Sporty Goose.”

“In the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, we’ve managed to build a tradition of celebrating National Independence Day as a family holiday. A key part of that tradition is gathering around the table at home and serving goose,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

This year, 27 local and regional editorial offices — online portals, newspapers, and radio stations — organized contests in which goose carcasses, funded by the regional self-government, were awarded as prizes. The winners picked them up on Saturday (October 25) in twenty towns across the region.

We also invite you to join our competitions! We encourage children, families, and rural housewives’ associations to take part. Until November 7, we’re accepting art submissions from children and youth for the “Sporty Goose” contest. Let your imagination run wild and show us a St. Martin’s goose engaged in sports!

Soon we’ll also announce another competition, this time for families and rural housewives’ associations, inviting them to share stories and photos of their family celebrations on November 11 with goose dishes at the table.
