INFORMATION PORTAL OF THE MARSHAL'S OFFICE OF THE KUJAWSKO-POMORSKIE Region IN TORUŃ

The annual meeting of parliamentarians, local government officials and representatives of government and local government institutions from the Toruń diocese was held at the Cathedral of St. John in Toruń. This year’s edition was part of the celebrations of the Jubilee Year 2025.

‘The slogan of the jubilee year – Pilgrims of Hope – reminds us how important it is to build community and a sense of unity. I am glad that our meeting was also part of this broader context,’ emphasised Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The meeting began with a lecture by Prof. Waldemar Rozynkowski from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. This was followed by a Holy Mass for parliamentarians and local government officials, presided over by Bishop Arkadiusz Okroj of Toruń.

The event was organised by Fr. Marek Rumiński, parish priest of the cathedral and diocesan chaplain to parliamentarians and local government officials, Bishop Arkadiusz Okroj and Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The meeting was attended by, among others, Senators Ryszard Bober, Tomasz Lenz, Marshal Piotr Całbecki, Regional Councillors Jacek Gajewski and Przemysław Przybylski, Toruń County Administrator Mirosław Graczyk, County Councillor Michał Ramlau, Mayor of Toruń Paweł Gulewski and Mayor of Grudziądz Maciej Glamowski, Mayor of Kowalewo Pomorskie Jacek Żurawski, Head of Łubianka Municipality Dagna Całbecka, as well as Toruń councillors, former long-time Mayor of Toruń Michał Zaleski, Deputy Chairman of the Council Marcin Czyżniewski, as well as Katarzyna Chłopecka and Zbigniew Fiderewicz.

The meeting concluded with an organ concert performed by cathedral organist Dawid Wesołowski.
