Inauguration of the Regional Council of Village Heads

With Marshal Piotr Całbecki, president of the regional parliament Elżbieta Piniewska and Deputy Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska in attendance, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship Council of Village Administrators held its first meeting on Wednesday (December 4) in Toruń. Dorota Dembinska, a village administrator from Mniszek in the Świecie district, was elected chairman of the body, while Stanislaw Jagielski, village administrator in Brzeźno in the Lipno district, was elected vice-chairman. The council’s 19-member presidium, which will work closely with the provincial board, was also elected. Downloadable photos

Village administrators know about the problems and needs of local communities. That’s why we involved them in building local development strategies and programs implemented by local action groups. The regional Council of Village Administrators, which is being constituted today, represents the interests of all the voivodeship’s districts,” Marshal Piotr Całbecki said before the meeting.

The Council – a 120-member body established by a resolution of the voivodship board in the spring of this year, whose composition was based on recommendations from heads of municipalities – is an advisory body to the voivodship marshal on issues relating to rural development, including the marshal’s civic budget under the community-led local development mechanism and important projects implemented by local action groups (LAGs). We are keen to ensure that village administrators – the rural leaders who are most familiar with the problems and needs of local communities – have a significant influence on the management of the money allocated for this purpose.

During the meeting, which was being held in the representative halls of the Palace of the Dąmbski family, acts of appointment to the Council of Village Administrators and badges were handed out. The adoption of bylaws and a work plan for the coming months is also expected.
