Hereditas Saeculorum Medals – submissions open until 30 April
The regional government awards the best conservation projects and individuals involved in the protection of historical monuments. Submissions for the 15th edition of the “Heritage of the Ages” competition are open until the end of April.
“The Hereditas Saeculorum Medals are an expression of recognition and gratitude to those engaged in protecting our tangible cultural heritage. We want to promote activities and achievements in this field that help preserve the memory of the region’s history and art,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
Awards will be granted in two categories:
- Category I – applications may be submitted by owners, holders and managers of historic properties, local government units, associations and foundations working in the field of monument protection and care, conservation services, and museums;
- Category II – applications may be submitted by individuals, institutions, and organizations.
The award ceremony will take place in September as part of the regional celebrations of the European Heritage Days.

Last year, the medals were awarded to the Parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Górsk (Toruń County), the Parish of St. Nicholas the Bishop in Kruszyny (Brodnica County), the Toruń Cultural Agenda, the Toruń Social Services Centre, and regionalist, exhibition curator, and author of academic publications Katarzyna Kluczwajd.
