Harvest Academy: A Celebration of Tradition and Creativity

Today (October 28), the Harvest Academy is taking place in Karbówko in the Golub-Dobrzyń County. During the event, we are summarizing two regional contests organized by the Marshal’s Office: “Creative Harvest Festival Welcome Sign 2025” and “Village Community Centres – What’s Happening Here?” The gala is attended by Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska and Member of the Regional Executive Board Dariusz Kurzawa.

– “Rural affairs and the well-being of village residents are a priority for the regional self-government. We support local initiatives and take care to preserve traditions. We take pride in seeing how, thanks to these efforts, the villages of Kujawy and Pomorze are developing dynamically,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The “welcome symbols” contest was open to all village councils (sołectwa) in the region. The total prize pool amounted to 17,000 PLN.

1st place – Grzybno (Unisław commune, Chełmno County)
2nd place – Konojady (Jabłonowo Pomorskie commune, Brodnica County)
3rd place – Mleczkowo (Dąbrowa Biskupia commune, Inowrocław County)
Honorable mention – Mikanowo A (Lubanie commune, Włocławek County)
Honorable mention – Leszcz (Łubianka commune, Toruń County)

The contest for the best initiatives and events organized in village community centres was addressed to rural women’s associations (Koła Gospodyń Wiejskich). Our goal is for these centers to be lively places that foster intergenerational bonds, promote knowledge about the region, uphold traditions, and protect cultural heritage. To achieve this, they should host engaging meetings, workshops, and events. The total prize pool was 33,000 PLN.

1st place – KGW Fajne Babki from Józefów (Włocławek commune, Włocławek County)
2nd place – KGW Wronowy Kujawskie Maki (Strzelno commune, Mogilno County)
3rd place – KGW Sokołów (Golub-Dobrzyń commune, Golub-Dobrzyń County)
4th place – KGW Centrum Kultury Kujaw in Piotrków Kujawski (Piotrków Kujawski commune, Radziejów County)
5th place – KGW Stronno (Dobrcz commune, Bydgoszcz County)

The event was highlighted by a concert from the legendary Polish band Czerwone Gitary.
