Thousands of people gathered in Toruń’s Old Town Square, warmed by the hot atmosphere and the performances of the stars of “New Year’s Eve Power of Hits,” loudly counted down the final seconds of the old year before midnight. At the same time, 3.3 million viewers of Polsat Television, which organized the event, raised a toast in front of their TV screens. All participants of this special New Year’s concert were given New Year’s wishes by Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

“Thank you to everyone here in Toruń and at home all across Poland for this New Year’s Eve night! Thank you to all who created this wonderful atmosphere. For the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, it is a true honor that in these last minutes of the old year we can greet all of Poland. May the new year bring peace to the world and wisdom, unity, and mutual respect to Poles. May it bring everyone only good moments and the fulfillment of dreams. And above all, let us wish one another health and lots and lots of love! Happy New Year!” Marshal Piotr Całbecki wished during “New Year’s Eve Power of Hits.”

The head of the region also addressed words of thanks to the partners of the project: “I would like to thank Polsat Television and Nina Terentiew for their trust, SOS Music for organizing the event, and the co-organizers: the City of Toruń, uniformed services, medical services, the police, the State Fire Service, security staff, as well as the artists, stage, sound and video crews, and the hosts. It was a magical ‘New Year’s Eve Power of Hits,’ full of hit songs and emotion. Thank you for the wonderful promotion of our region!”

On the enormous stage built over several days, the most well-known performers appeared, including Beata and Bajm, Edyta Górniak, Alicja Majewska, Anna Wyszkoni, Majka Jeżowska, Urszula, Lady Pank, Big Cyc, Enej, Golec u’Orkiestra, Perfect, Julia Żugaj, Skolim, Smolasty, and the star of the band Modern Talking, Thomas Anders.

The regional self-government, as a co-organizer of the event, launched six special trains that took participants of Polsat’s New Year’s Eve celebration back to their homes.
