Happy 100th Birthday, Mrs. Jadwiga

An accountant, planner, and researcher of family genealogy, known for her love of history – Jadwiga Jaskólska from Kruszwica (Inowrocław County)has celebrated her 100th birthday.
She was visited by the President of the Regional Parliament, Elżbieta Piniewska, who presented her with the Unitas Durat Palatinatus Cuiaviano-Pomeraniensis medal.

May the kindness you share with others return to you, strengthened by the care, warmth, and attention of your loved ones. May each day bring joy, love, and support,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki in his congratulatory message.

Jadwiga Jaskólska was born on August 28, 1925, in Markowice (Mogilno County) as the daughter of Józef and Stanisława Jaskólski. She came from a landowning family whose peaceful life was tragically disrupted by the outbreak of World War II. Together with her relatives, she was displaced, moved to her aunt’s in Grudziądz, and worked first for farmers and later at a tea wholesale business. After the war, the family estate was seized by the authorities and irretrievably lost.

Professionally, Mrs. Jaskólska worked in banks, a dairy cooperative, the tax office, and the municipal cooperative in Kruszwica, where she served as an accountant and planner. To this day, she follows economic and political news with interest.

She is known for her elegance, passion for historical literature, and organizational skills. She enjoyed hosting guests and preparing family gatherings. After retirement, she devoted herself to genealogy, conducting archival research together with her niece Halina. To this day, she willingly shares her knowledge and memories.

In her youth, she loved going to dances with friends. Today, she jokes with a smile that if her health allowed, she would gladly dance at a disco again.

Although she lived modestly all her life, she never lost her sense of humor or her sober and impartial view of reality. Difficult experiences strengthened her and taught her humility. She never looked back with regret – she accepted things as they were. Instead of analyzing endlessly, she sought solutions and looked forward,” emphasizes Mrs. Ewa.

For her family, she has always been a source of strength and support – someone they could visit and talk to.
