FEdKP: revitalization, education, infrastructure, business support
Representatives of the beneficiaries of our regional program, European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze (FEdKP), received financing agreements today (April 4) at the Marshal’s Office for projects totaling PLN 68 million. EU funding will support revitalization initiatives, water and sewage projects, education and social support, as well as the development of an accreditation system for business support institutions, combined with grants for using these services.
Welcoming the attendees and thanking them for their well-prepared applications, Marshal Piotr Całbecki emphasized the importance of local government-led revitalization initiatives.
“I am particularly pleased with these projects because revitalization is not just about space and architecture. It also means identifying social problems and developing programs to solve them,” he stressed.
Among today’s funded revitalization projects are revitalization of Kościelecki Square in Bydgoszcz, renovation of a historic parsonage in Ciele, Bydgoszcz County and planned renovation of a former agronomy building in Rogowo, Rypin County, which will be transformed into assisted living apartments for seniors.
The largest portion of today’s funds will go toward water and sewage management projects. Janikowo Municipality (Inowrocław County) is beginning the construction of a sanitary sewage system in the villages of Ludzisko and Balice (14 million grant PLN), while Mogilno Municipality will implement a similar system in Stawiska and Świerkówiec (21 million grant PLN).
A significant portion of the funds is allocated to so-called soft projects in education, implemented by Rypin County and the Rogowo Municipality near Rypin. These funds will finance remedial and corrective-compensatory classes, as well as programs supporting students’ talents in local primary and secondary schools. Additionally, plans include expanding the curriculum of the local technical school based on labor market demands.
The ceremony was attended by Elżbieta Piniewska – President of the Regional Parliament, Zbigniew Ostrowski – Vice-Marshal of the Region, Marek Wojtkowski – Member of the Regional Executive Board and Sławomir Kopyść – Regional Parliament Councilor.
Earlier, authorities in Włocławek electronically signed grant agreements under the FEdKP program. The city is launching projects for green redevelopment of the city center, modernization and expansion of the urban cycling network and upgrading public transportation infrastructure.
The total allocation in the FEdKP program amounts to 7.7 billion PLN, based on the current exchange rate. The program’s implementation progress (contracting) is at nearly 50%, with social sector projects reaching almost 60%.
