INFORMATION PORTAL OF THE MARSHAL'S OFFICE OF THE KUJAWSKO-POMORSKIE Region IN TORUŃ

The Regional Economic Development Council is meeting today (25 November) at the Marshal’s Office for its next session. The agenda includes, among other items, a discussion of the updated 2030+ regional development strategy, setting priorities for next year’s actions, and electing the presidium. The meeting is chaired by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, who also serves as chair of the council.

The forty-one-member council, appointed in September and tasked with supporting the regional self-government in shaping economic policy, represents business, academic and local government communities, as well as labour-market institutions. “We want to actively draw on the knowledge and experience of the experts who sit on this council,” Marshal Piotr Całbecki said at the inaugural meeting in September.

Among the participants are the President of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Development Fund, Kamila Radziecka (KPFR is the project’s host), the President of the Czochralski Science and Technology Centre and the regional self-government’s plenipotentiary for science, Prof. Bogusław Buszewski, as well as the regional self-government’s plenipotentiary for economic development, Olgierd Dziekoński.

Also meeting today is the Expert Panel closely associated with the Economic Development Council. This session is devoted, among other topics, to presenting analyses of innovative segments of our regional economy. We assume that the work of the panel and the eight smart specialisation working groups will support the creation of innovative and competitive sectors of our economy.
