Detecting an Aneurysm in Time
We invite residents of the region to take part in a preventive healthcare program aimed at detecting abdominal aortic aneurysms. This year, the campaign is being carried out by two medical facilities—located in Koronowo (Bydgoszcz County) and Żnin. A total of 580 men will be examined.
“An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a serious threat to life, especially for men over the age of 60. An effective strategy to combat this disease is, above all, early detection, even at the asymptomatic stage,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The Kujawsko-Pomorskie screening program for abdominal aortic aneurysms is intended for male smokers aged 65 to 74 who reside in our region. The ultrasound screening is non-invasive and carries no health risks for the patient. Patients found to have an enlarged section of the aorta will be referred for further diagnostic tests or to a vascular surgery specialist.
There are no regional restrictions, so participants may choose whichever facility suits them best:
- Rodzina Medical Clinic in Koronowo (Bydgoszcz County), 49 Dworcowa St.
Registration: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
