Cultural Weekend

The Svahy Trio performs traditional folk music from the Pałuki and Kujawy regions using historical instruments. The ensemble recorded the soundtrack for the latest adaptation of Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz’s novel “The Quack” (Znachor). The film’s music, composed by Paweł Lucewicz, will be performed live on Friday, February 14, at the Pomeranian Philharmonic.

 

Joining Svahy on stage will be Katarzyna Gacek-Duda (bass flute, ethnic flutes), Marcel Baliński (piano), Maria Holka (sampler), and the Pomeranian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Radosław Labahua. The concert will be hosted by Tytus Hołdys.

 

The Ignacy Jan Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz also invites audiences on Sunday, February 16, to a concert featuring the beloved children’s group Fasolki, accompanied by Capella Bydgostiensis, the Pomeranian Philharmonic Children’s Choir, and the artOdysea Vocal Ensemble, conducted by Benedykt Odya. The ensemble includes Daniel Pradella (piano/arrangements), Maciej Klik (electric guitar), Kasper Łbik (bass guitar), Norbert Itrich Jr. (drums), and Adam Kołacki (saxophone). The program features well-known songs such as “Zuzia lalka nieduża”, “Myj zęby”, “Mam fryzurę na cebulę”, and “Bursztynek”.

 

The opera “Orpheus and Eurydice” by Christoph Willibald Gluck, directed and choreographed by Robert Bondara, will be performed on February 14-16 at Opera Nova.

 

The Clazz Trio, featuring Jan Romanowski (violin), Kinga Bubel (cello), and Rafał Błaszczyk (piano), will perform on Saturday, February 15, at the Chopin Centre in Szafarnia. The musicians will present Nikolai Kapustin’s compositions blending jazz and classical music.

 

At the Archaeological Museum in Biskupin, as part of the “Meetings with Archaeology” series, Dr. Szymon Nowaczyk will deliver a lecture on Saturday, February 15, about the inhabitants of the so-called longhouses, who settled in the Pałuki region in the 5th and 4th millennium BCE. A guided tour of the reconstructed Neolithic settlement will follow, free of charge.

 

“Wozownia” Art Gallery invites visitors on Friday, February 14, to the openings of exhibitions by Natalia Wiśniewska (“High Functionality”) and Marek Rachwalik (“Collective Reflex x Marek Rachwalik”), accompanied by a Valentine’s Day event at the gallery.

 

The Lubostroń Palace also welcomes guests for a romantic weekend. On Sunday, February 17, the Rotunda Hall will host a concert featuring Małgorzata Grela (soprano), Aneta Nurcek (mezzo-soprano), Michał Kuzimski (piano), and students from the Vocal Department of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. The program includes pieces by Mozart, Moniuszko, Wars, Petersburski, and Szpilman.
