Ciechocinek with a modern spa infrastructure

The “Markiewicz” hotel and spa complex in Ciechocinek has gained a new face – modern, comfortable and functional. The completed modernization of one of the key facilities of the Ciechocinek Health Resort has significantly improved the quality of services provided and the comfort of patients’ stays. Today’s opening ceremony was attended by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska, and Regional Executive Board Member Marek Wojtkowski.

We want patients staying in Ciechocinek to have the best possible conditions, which is why we are pleased to invest in the modernization of hospital and accommodation facilities,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “The entire ‘Markiewicz’ complex is one of the few places in the country where the youngest patients can combine rehabilitation with learning, fun and rest.

The modernization work included, among other things, transforming multi-person rooms with shared corridor bathrooms into comfortable double rooms with full sanitary facilities; adding an extension to the building and adapting it into a lounge area; a thorough replacement of electrical and water-sewage installations; modernization of the dining hall, circulation routes and treatment facilities; as well as the purchase of modern hotel and medical equipment.

The modernization of the complex is another step in the regional government’s efforts to develop health infrastructure in the region. The total cost of the work amounted to nearly PLN 12 million, of which over PLN 6 million came from the regional budget.

The Dr. Markiewicz Spa Hospital, which also operates within the Ciechocinek Health Resort structure, specializes in treating upper respiratory tract diseases, neurological disorders, obesity, osteoporosis, and provides rheumatological and orthopedic rehabilitation. The facility offers modern treatment infrastructure, including a brine pool, as well as educational facilities that enable young patients to continue their schooling.

The Ciechocinek Health Resort, managed by the regional government since 2012, oversees the most recognizable landmarks of the spa town — including the “Mushroom” fountain, the complex of three historic graduation towers, and the Saltworks. Its four therapeutic facilities provide a wide range of spa, hotel and rehabilitation services, including medical stays, leisure stays, weekend programs, and specialist therapies such as weight-loss and preventive treatments.
