The fourth edition of the Vistula Sounds International Festival, which this year bears the name of Irena Santor, has begun in Ciechocinek. The inauguration of the event was marked by the ceremonial unveiling of a star dedicated to the outstanding Polish artist and honorary citizen of the region on Ciechocinek’s Walk of Fame. The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Marshal of the Region, Aneta Jędrzejewska.

‘I would like Ciechocinek to embrace this festival, which should bring it many benefits,’ said Irena Santor during the unveiling of her star.

During the opening of the festival, Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska emphasised the unique atmosphere of the town and the significance of the event: “It is here, in Ciechocinek, where time passes more slowly and the air smells of salt and summer flowers, that people of different generations and cultures will meet. We have exciting concerts, performances by young artists and meetings with creators ahead of us. Let this time be a true celebration: a celebration of joy, emotions and open hearts. Let the songs flow in Polish and in many languages of the world.”

The artists were welcomed by the Youth Brass Band of the Municipal Board of the Volunteer Fire Department in Waganiec. In the evening, a gala concert was held at the Summer Theatre with the participation of stars such as Anna Rusowicz, Andrii Putkaradze (winner of Junior Eurovision 2024), Jarosław Wasik, Anna Poghosyan, Pavlo Tabakov and Adam Barro. Elena Kolomiytseva, Patryk Pawlak, Dominik Arim, Julia Rydelek, the Rina Balet band and the artistic director of the festival, Sar Sargsyan, also appeared on stage.

The festival will last five days. Admission to all events is free. Artists from 22 countries have registered to participate in this year’s edition. A total of 108 performers, 79 soloists and 9 bands will take part in the competitions. In addition to concerts and competitions, the programme also includes vocal workshops led by international jurors, intercultural meetings and trips promoting Ciechocinek and the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region.

‘Vistula Sounds’ is an international festival promoting Polish culture and traditions, while building bridges between artists from different countries. The event was co-financed by the regional government.
