Best Occupational Therapist Awarded
Empathy, patience, dedication, and adherence to the highest ethical and professional standards are qualities that define an outstanding occupational therapist. For the past seven years, the regional board has been honoring the best in this profession. This year, the winner of the “Best Occupational Therapist” competition is Magdalena Grzeszkowiak, recognized for her entire body of therapeutic work. The ceremonial event took place on October 27 at the Marshal’s Office, attended by Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska and Regional Parliament President Elżbieta Piniewska. Vice-President Katarzyna Lubańska, a member of the competition jury, was also present.
– “A few years ago, we launched the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship strategy, which places people at its center. To implement it, we need people like you. Thank you for 28 years of work for others. I wish you strength and perseverance to pass on to future generations of occupational therapists,” addressed Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska.
– “This award is symbolic. Besides your hard work and commitment, you are a symbol for all occupational therapists. We are all responsible for caring for those in need,” said Regional Parliament President Elżbieta Piniewska.
Katarzyna Lubańska, Vice-President of the Regional Assembly and jury member, added: – “Evaluating the applications is always challenging because the candidates are extremely dedicated and close to people. From my own experience, I know how demanding this work is, so I thank you even more for it.”
The aim of the “Best Occupational Therapist of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship” competition is to recognize and appreciate occupational therapists from the region who, through their engagement with people with disabilities, use innovative therapeutic methods, and maintain high ethical and professional standards, achieve exceptional results. This year, 15 applications for the award were submitted. Applications could be submitted by representatives of facilities in professional and social reintegration, social assistance, education, healthcare, and sanatoriums, as well as NGOs or rehabilitation centers in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, and the authorities managing these facilities. The regional board honored Magdalena Grzeszkowiak, an occupational therapist at the Social Welfare Home in Włocławek, for her overall work.
The competition is held cyclically, with the winners recognized in October on the occasion of Occupational Therapist Day. Over seven editions held between 2019 and 2025, a total of 30 occupational therapists and 2 occupational therapy teams from the region have been honored.
