They serve local communities, are the voice of the residents, and the driving force behind rural initiatives – local leaders from Chełmno County received village leader badges during a meeting with the Vice-Chair of the Regional Assembly, Katarzyna Lubańska, in Trzebcz Szlachecki.

Village mayors are a very important link in local administration, the one closest to the residents of the villages, emerging directly from local neighborhood communities. That is why we strive to ensure that people holding this position on a social mandate are recognized in their role – emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

In the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, there are 2,296 village leaders. The regional government recognizes them as important partners who support the marshal’s administration, among other things, in implementing territorial policy. In December 2024, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Council of Village Leaders was established by the regional board – a body formed based on the recommendations of municipal mayors, serving as an advisory council to the regional marshal on matters concerning rural development.
