Artistic life doesn’t take place only in galleries! (photos)

The 38th “We Can Do It Too” Artistic Handicraft Exhibition was held today (March 23) at the Marshal’s Office in Toruń. The fair was opened by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska, and President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska.

“We have wonderful creators in our region. What is created by participants of occupational therapy workshops and residents of social welfare homes is truly admirable. This year’s exhibition, with 35 exhibitors, proves that artistic life does not take place only in galleries. It also reminds us of the approaching Easter holidays. I would like to thank the creators and all those who actively support these places,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki at the opening of the event.

“Art is entering public space—it has become brighter, more beautiful, and more joyful here. We meet to express respect for art, for what you are able to create, but also for other people. ‘We Can Do It Too’ is an important message: we can do it, we are capable. I wish you that we continue to renew our hope and faith in people, because it is people who matter most,” emphasized President Elżbieta Piniewska.

“Thank you very much for being with us again this year. You bring us into the special time of Easter, which reminds us that good triumphs over evil. We need this goodness in our families, our communities, workplaces, across the region, the country, and the world. And you bring it in a truly special way—for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart,” said Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska.

The exhibition and fair is a cyclical event that has become a permanent part of the pre-holiday calendar in the region. This year’s edition featured 35 institutions—occupational therapy workshops, community self-help centers, social welfare homes, special schools, and non-governmental organizations.
