Another stage of expansion of the marshal’s hospital in Toruń: specialist outpatient clinics
One of the largest healthcare projects currently being launched is the construction of a complex of specialist outpatient clinics within the grounds of the Wojewódzki Szpital Zespolony (Regional Integrated Hospital) in Toruń, combined with the purchase of medical equipment and apparatus for specialist outpatient care and one-day treatment therapies. The total projected cost of the investment is PLN 111 million, and advanced preparations are underway to announce a tender to select the contractor.
“The new four-storey building—which will house, among others, a rehabilitation clinic, a regional cardiology center, a diabetes clinic, a chemotherapy clinic, hematology and immunology clinics, patient relaxation areas, a childbirth education school, as well as an underground car park—will be an example of well-designed, functional architecture that is also visually appealing. According to preliminary assumptions, it should be completed within three years. New times and new challenges require new solutions. I am pleased that another stage of the expansion of the regional hospital complex in Toruń is moving closer to implementation,”
said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The cost of construction works and furnishing the building (which, when viewed from above, will resemble a large banana) is expected to amount to just over PLN 70 million.
The second part of the project—the purchase of medical equipment and apparatus for specialist outpatient care and minimally invasive one-day surgical treatment—will cost nearly PLN 40 million. Planned purchases include equipment for corneal transplants, devices necessary for vitrectomy and cataract removal, equipment for the diagnosis and non-invasive removal of kidney stones, hysteroscopes, a microneedle radiofrequency device, a system for remote monitoring of fetal heart rate and uterine contractions (CTG), modern ultrasound and endoscopic devices, a mammography unit, a CT scanner with cardiac imaging capability, and ophthalmic tomographs.
The investment budget consists of funds from the regional program European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze (the hospital management received the financing agreement under FEdKP in mid-December) as well as the required own contribution, which will be covered by the project partner, the marshal’s special-purpose company Kujawsko-Pomorskie Inwestycje Medyczne.
