An Important Step Towards the Sępólno Krajeńskie Bypass
Work is underway on the bypass project for Sępólno Krajeńskie along Regional Road No. 241. In November, an environmental decision was obtained. The regional bypass will connect to the newly planned route of the national road between Bydgoszcz and Koszalin.
– We are coordinating our work with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, which will implement a section of the bypass along National Road No. 25, – emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki. – Thanks to this investment, we will create a complete road system that will entirely remove transit traffic from the city.
The 1.5-kilometer route follows a corridor agreed upon during public consultations. The southern bypass will connect the village of Grochowiec (exiting towards Nakło via Regional Road No. 241) with Siedlisko, where a new roundabout will be built. This roundabout will serve as the starting point for the construction of a new route of National Road No. 25, forming the eastern part of the Sępólno Krajeńskie bypass. A new overpass over the railway line between Sępólno and Nakło will also be part of the bypass. The selected variant avoids a photovoltaic farm to the north and includes a service road for areas covered by the local spatial development plan prepared by the municipality.
In November 2022, the Regional Road Authority signed a contract worth PLN 1.5 million with the Archidrog design studio in Poznań. The agreement includes the preparation of the bypass concept and project, as well as obtaining environmental and road investment implementation decisions. Documentation is expected to be completed by mid-next year.
Key Goals of the Investment:
- Creating a safe road section
- Reducing transit traffic in Sępólno Krajeńskie
- Improving travel comfort and reducing travel time
- Reducing noise and air pollution caused by vehicle traffic in the city
- Increasing intersection capacity
Earlier this year, a new roundabout was opened in Sępólno Krajeńskie at the intersection of the regional road (T. Kościuszko Street) and local roads (Popiełuszki and Odrodzenia Streets).
