Ambitious and hard-working — Marshal’s scholarships for top students

More than 1,200 pupils from primary schools, general secondary schools, and music schools will receive scholarships this year under the Marshal’s programme Prymusi Pomorza i Kujaw II (Top Students of Pomerania and Kujawy II). Financial support will also be granted to talented vocational students — in total, more than 1,800 top students will be awarded scholarships this year. Applications for the Prymus Pomorza i Kujaw Plus programme are open until 18 February.

“The regional self-government places great importance on the quality of education and makes considerable efforts to ensure that education-related expenses do not place an excessive burden on family budgets, especially those of less affluent households. We want talented young people to have the conditions necessary to fully realise their potential,” emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The scholarship programme is implemented with funding from the European Union under the regional programme European Funds for Kujawy Pomorze 2021–2027. In the 2025/2026 school year, support will be provided to 1,290 students from the region. The monthly scholarship amounts range from PLN 300 to PLN 500. The funds may be used for purposes related to educational development, including the purchase of books or a computer, participation in additional classes and competitions, payment for internet access, travel to school, and accommodation.

The schools with the largest number of scholarship recipients are: the University Secondary School in Toruń (135 scholarship holders), Nicolaus Copernicus First General Secondary School in Toruń (59), Tadeusz Kościuszko Fourth General Secondary School in Toruń (58), Kujawy Land First General Secondary School in Włocławek (50), Professor Stefan Banach Tenth General Secondary School in Toruń (45), Jan Kasprowicz First General Secondary School with Bilingual Classes in Inowrocław (41), and Jan and Jędrzej Śniadecki Sixth General Secondary School in Bydgoszcz (34).
