Agreement Signed for the Trląg Bypass Road

In the presence of President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska and Member of the Regional Exeutive Board Marek Wojtkowski, an agreement was signed today (17 July) for the construction of the Trląg bypass road. This is another stage in the reconstruction of regional road No. 255, connecting the counties of Inowrocław and Mogilno. In spring, a roundabout in Broniewice was opened on this route, and construction of a roundabout in Rzadkwin is currently underway. The projects are being carried out with the support of the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze.

“As a resident of Inowrocław County, I have many reasons to be pleased. In spring, the roundabout in Broniewice was opened, and soon we will also have a roundabout in Rzadkwin,” said President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska. “Our investments are being carried out comprehensively – they are not only about building roads, but also sidewalks, cycle paths, parking areas and lighting. All of this translates into greater comfort and safety for road users.”

“Around 50 road investments are currently underway. The construction season is in full swing and will continue practically until the end of the year, as the funds allocated for modernising road infrastructure are at a record level,” added Member of the Regional Executive Board Marek Wojtkowski.

“The Trląg bypass will redirect heavy traffic and a significant part of car traffic away from the centre of the village. This will not only improve the safety and comfort of residents, but will also eliminate the problem of vibrations caused by heavy vehicles, which negatively affected residential buildings and the church, causing cracks and other damage,” said Bartłomiej Jaszcz, Mayor of Janikowo.

The investment will be carried out by Transpol Lider from Łojewo (Inowrocław County), with whom an agreement worth PLN 20.5 million has been signed. All works are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027. After final acceptance, the road will be covered by a seven-year warranty. The agreement was signed by Leszek Nitka, Deputy Director of the Regional Roads Authority, and Zenon Poliński, President of Transpol Lider. The meeting was also attended by Janikowo Mayor Bartłomiej Jaszcz.

The bypass will run along the western side of Trląg. The works will cover a 3.1 km section (from the junction with the roundabout currently under construction in Broniewice to the cemetery in Trląg). A 7-metre-wide roadway with an asphalt concrete surface and 1.5-metre-wide shoulders will be built. Most of the route passes through agricultural areas. This solution made it possible to avoid any demolitions.

The project will also include the construction of paved access roads to fields and properties. Rainwater will be collected by roadside ditches and directed to infiltration and evaporation reservoirs as well as to Lake Pakoskie.

The new bypass will be designed to withstand heavy vehicle traffic (up to 11.5 tonnes per axle), increasing pavement durability and reducing the risk of rutting. An important element of the project will also be another vehicle weighing station. The parameters of the lay-by were agreed with the Regional Road Transport Inspection, which will carry out inspections at this location.

For residents’ convenience, the parking area near the cemetery will be reconstructed. Parking spaces will be paved with blocks, and the surrounding area will be landscaped with greenery. Safety will also be improved by a new pavement connecting the cemetery with the southern part of Trląg. Crossing the road will be made easier by a lit pedestrian crossing with a traffic island.

The project also includes the reconstruction of sections of telecommunications, power and sanitary networks, as well as the modernisation of a culvert.

Important Road, Further Investments

Many other projects are being carried out on regional road No. 255 connecting Pakość and Janikowo. Last year, the reconstruction of a 3-kilometre section between Rzadkwin and Bławaty in Mogilno County was completed. In spring, the section with the new roundabout in Broniewice, Inowrocław County, was accepted.

A radar speed display has been installed in Pakość. Construction of the roundabout in Rzadkwin (Mogilno County) has also begun.

Work is also underway to update the documentation required for the reconstruction of a section of this road, including the culvert in Broniewice (Inowrocław County).

Kujawsko-Pomorskie Bypass Construction Programme

The regional government is steadily increasing funding for design and construction works carried out as part of the regional bypass construction programme. It includes bypasses with a total length of more than 70 kilometres. Implementation in the coming years will require PLN 1 billion.

As part of the 2021-2027 regional programme, a record amount of EUR 136 million has been allocated for the expansion and modernisation of road infrastructure. From national central funds, PLN 170 million has been obtained for three bypasses – Brodnica, Rypin and Tuchola.

In recent weeks, further stages of work have been reached:

  • an environmental decision has been obtained for the Radzyń Chełmiński bypass;
  • an environmental decision (DŚU) has been obtained for the Rypin bypass;
  • an application has been submitted for a permit to implement the road investment (ZRID) for the Więcbork bypass;
  • an agreement has been signed to prepare a corridor study for the Łysomice bypass.
