A Social Services Cluster Will Be Established in Chełmno
The municipal government of Chełmno is launching the construction of a regional cluster integrating social, health, educational, and social reintegration services. The project is financed under the regional program European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze. Today (12 March), the ceremony for signing the contract with the contractor was attended by Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
“This investment and the future cluster stand out because of the comprehensive nature of the support that future patients and beneficiaries will receive here, as well as the supra-local reach of the center, which I am convinced will serve residents of the entire region,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The cluster will be built at 22, 26, and 28 Biskupia Street, on the site of a former military unit. For the needs of the center, one new building will be constructed, while two others – the former military kitchen and soldiers’ club – will undergo major renovation combined with extensive adaptation to new purposes.
The value of the project is nearly PLN 60 million. Funding from the regional program European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze, managed by the regional self-government, amounts to PLN 43 million. The contractor responsible for the construction works is the Bydgoszcz-based company Lech.
The investment is planned to be completed in spring 2028.
