Work on the construction of a new roundabout in Dyblin, at the junction of regional roads No. 558 and 562 in Lipno County, is nearing completion. The project is part of the Marshal’s programme to improve road traffic safety.

“Safety is a key issue in road modernisation,” stresses Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “As part of our large roadworks package, new roundabouts, pavements and illuminated pedestrian crossings are being built. We are using European funds for this purpose.”

The three-arm roundabout, with a diameter of 25 metres, connects regional road No. 562 (linking Dobrzyń nad Wisłą with Włocławek) with regional road No. 558, which connects Lipno with Dyblin. The project also includes the construction of pavements, stormwater drainage, electrical and telecommunication networks. The geometry of the roundabout’s approaches forces drivers to reduce speed, further improving safety. Around the central island, a concrete ring has been designed to facilitate manoeuvres for heavy vehicles.

The contractor is continuing paving works on the central island, pavements and splitter islands. The installation of lighting and application of road markings are still ahead.

The construction works, valued at 5.2 million PLN, are being carried out by Road Works Company of Lipno.

The programme to modernise regional roads by eliminating hazardous spots, implemented using European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze for 2021–2027, includes a total of 23 tasks.

Record spending on roads

Two billion złoty will be allocated to the regional road modernisation programme in the coming years. Under the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021-2027 (FEdKP 2021-2027), our regional programme for the new financial perspective, we are allocating 136 million euros for road investments, including our regional bypass construction programme. Additional central funding will also be used for some infrastructure expansion tasks (about 170 million złoty for bypasses and about 450 million złoty for other road upgrades).
