
85 Million PLN to Support Seniors
On Thursday, February 27, the first beneficiaries received grant agreements in Chełmno for projects dedicated to seniors. The regional self-government is allocating 85 million PLN to Local Action Groups for the creation of senior clubs and activities such as workshops, theater trips, sports, and social meetings.
Marshal Piotr Całbecki emphasized:
– The diverse offerings for seniors respond to the growing needs of this group, which increasingly seeks an active lifestyle after retirement. Thanks to the funds provided to Local Action Groups, we can support senior clubs and organize engaging recreational and educational activities.
The first organization in the region to sign grant agreements for senior activation projects was Local Action Group Chełmno, receiving nearly 450,000 PLN in total. The grants were awarded to:
- Association “Tacy Sami”
- Anna Zawadzka-Gralec Foundation
- “Rodzina Przymierza” Foundation
- Chełmno Enthusiasts’ Society
- Social Cooperative “Wspólna Sprawa”
- Chełmno Cultural Center
- Association “Grubno – School Without Borders”
- Foundation for the Promotion of Culture and Tourism “By the River”
In the 2023-2029 period, 85 million PLN has been allocated for senior support initiatives, including:
- Grants for 850 senior clubs for people aged 60+
- Maximum grant per project: 100,000 PLN
- Funding covers up to 95% of project costs
- Funded by the EU program: European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021-2027
Senior clubs will offer artistic, educational, and hobby workshops, physical activities promoting a healthy lifestyle, computer literacy training, workshops on fraud prevention and cybersecurity.
Local Action Groups (LGDs) continue to play a key role in community-driven development across the region. There are 27 LGDs in Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, covering the entire region. Their work focuses on social activation, local services and infrastructure, job creation, environmental protection, and cultural heritage preservation.
