155 million złoty for the development of rural areas in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region

Thirteen agreements worth a total of 3 million złoty have been awarded to the first beneficiaries in our region under the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023–2027. The funds, recently allocated by the regional board, are intended for small public infrastructure projects, including the modernization of community centers, construction or renovation of playgrounds, and new publicly accessible sports and recreational facilities. The ceremonial meeting with representatives of the thirteen municipalities—who will implement these projects—was attended by Vice Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska and Member of the Regional Board Dariusz Kurzawa.

“We care deeply about supporting smaller communities and making rural areas in our region more attractive. These funds supplement your budgets and allow you to expand your investment plans. I am pleased that our cooperation is working perfectly,” said Dariusz Kurzawa as he opened the meeting. He also noted that funds previously allocated to the region for rural development had been utilized at 103 percent, thanks to the inclusion of resources unused by other regions.

“Our priority is to ensure that these funds are close to you and that they improve our local communities. I am very pleased that you are applying for these resources and that, thanks to them, rural community centers are being built or modernized, and that you are addressing the sports and recreational needs of residents in smaller towns,” emphasized Vice Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska.

Among the first beneficiaries in the region is the Bytoń municipality in Radziejów County, which will use nearly 200,000 złoty to carry out thermal modernization of a community center in Niegibalice. “We are counting on more agreements and declare that we will use every amount of funding we receive for the benefit of our residents. All grants will be settled reliably,” said Mayor Artur Ruciński while receiving the agreement.

For the implementation of the regional component of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027 (Leader/Community-Led Local Development – CLLD), the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship has 36.75 million euros (155 million złoty) at its disposal. These funds may be used for:

  • building local identity based on social activation and the use of local resources;
  • implementing local development strategies through Local Action Groups (LAGs), including support for economic activity, development of non-agricultural functions of farms, improving access to public infrastructure, fostering civic awareness, social inclusion of seniors and youth, protection of rural cultural and natural heritage, and actions aimed at shortening food supply chains.
