100 million zlotys for road investments in Mogilno County
Advanced works are underway on the construction of the Mogilno bypass and on the reconstruction of several other important regional roads in Mogilno County. The total value of all road investments in this part of the region is nearly 100 million zlotys.
“– A record pool of funds for regional roads allows us to carry out investments in every county,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “– We are not only modernising but also building new sections of Kuyavian-Pomeranian roads that form a functional transport network across the region. Thanks to bypasses that redirect heavy trucks out of the cities, streets in town centres can continue to serve local traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists.”
Bypass under construction
The contractor has completed 65% of the physical work. Later this month, concreting of beams and reinforcement laid on all seven spans will be finished. In Żabno, works are underway on a new roundabout that will connect the bypass to the regional road. The first foundation layers are already in place and curbs are being installed. In the coming weeks, the contractor plans to continue works on sidewalk edges, retaining walls, and to begin waterproofing works on the constructed deck. Weather permitting, asphalt will be laid on the viaduct around the turn of the year. Completion of the works is planned for next year.
The project also includes construction of wildlife crossings and pedestrian infrastructure around the new roundabout. More than 200 trees and nearly 2,000 shrubs will be planted along the road. The project also includes a road measurement station equipped with cameras. The 1.5-kilometre section of Regional Road No. 254 will connect the existing roundabout in Świerkówiec with the village of Żabno, enabling the redirection of transit traffic from the southern part of Mogilno as well.
The construction works are being carried out by Strabag. The investment, with a total value of more than 86 million zlotys, is co-financed by EU funds under the European Funds for Kuyavia and Pomerania 2021–2027.
An important road built from scratch
Another stage of the modernization of Regional Road No. 255, which connects Strzelno with Pakość, is also underway. Works are being carried out between the villages of Rzadkwin and Bławaty. The entire 3-kilometre section is being rebuilt from the foundation up. A practically new 7-metre-wide carriageway with additional shoulders and bus bays is being constructed. Stormwater tanks are also being built. Works are carried out under alternating one-way traffic controlled by traffic lights.
The contractor is Strabag, with whom we signed a contract worth 17.6 million zlotys in spring. Weather permitting, the contractor intends to complete the basic part of the works by the end of the year.
Earlier, the section from Pakość to Jankowo (Inowrocław County) was rebuilt on Regional Road No. 255.
A roundabout is also under construction in Broniewice.
More kilometres under renovation
We continue modernising Regional Road No. 254 connecting Mogilno with Barcin. This year, we renewed the road surface from Sucharzewo to Wiecanowo (4 kilometres). The project also included the construction of shoulders and new road markings. The task has already been accepted. We allocated nearly 5 million zlotys from the regional budget for it.
Works are also nearing completion on the renovation of a more than 4-kilometre section of Regional Road No. 262 between Dzierzążno and Procyń. The regional budget will allocate 5.7 million zlotys for this renovation. Both tasks are performed by the company Inodrog.
Next investments in preparation
The regional government has secured funds for further road investments in Inowrocław County. This year, a speed-display device will be installed on Regional Road No. 254.
The European Funds for Kuyavia and Pomerania 2021–27 will support the conversion of the intersection in Rzadkwin on Road No. 255 into a roundabout. We are completing the necessary documentation and permits. The scope of this project will connect with the currently modernised Rzadkwin-Bławaty section.
Record spending on roads
Two billion zlotys will be allocated to the regional programme for the modernisation of regional roads in the coming years. Under the European Funds for Kuyavia and Pomerania 2021–2027 (FEdKiP 2021–2027), our regional programme for the new EU perspective, 136 million euros will be dedicated to road investments, including our regional bypass construction programme. We will also use central funding obtained for some projects related to the expansion of road infrastructure (approx. 170 million zlotys for bypasses and around 450 million zlotys for the expansion of other roads).
