19th Regional Government Forum
Local government representatives from all levels across the region are meeting today (25 June) at Bierzgłowski Castle for the 19th Kujawsko-Pomorskie Regional Government Forum. The agenda includes discussions on the region’s most important challenges in the context of the upcoming debate on the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Development Strategy 2035+. The event is hosted by Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
In his opening address, Marshal Piotr Całbecki emphasized the importance of cooperation among local governments in addressing key development challenges.
“Only by working together can we effectively respond to today’s challenges—depopulation, security and resilience to threats, economic issues, and the challenges associated with digitalisation and the growing use of artificial intelligence,” he stressed.
Other topics on the agenda include the regional government’s most important current initiatives and investments, amendments to the regional programme European Funds for Kujawsko-Pomorskie, the assumptions of the National and Regional Partnership Plans for the 2028–2034 programming period, and centrally managed EU programmes and funding calls available to local government units.
Participants also include Elżbieta Piniewska, President of the Regional Parliament; Zbigniew Ostrowski, Vice-Marshal of the Voivodeship; Marek Wojtkowski, Member of the Voivodeship Board; Przemysław Sznajdrowski, Vice-Chair of the Regional Assembly; Michał Koniuch, Vice-Voivode; and regional councillors.
Marshal Piotr Całbecki also informed attendees that, representing the Association of Polish Regions, he will assume the rotating position of Co-Chair of the Joint Commission of the Government and Local Government, Poland’s principal forum for dialogue between central government and local authorities, in December.
