Two bids submitted for the expansion of the Pomeranian Philharmonic

Two large and well-known construction companies, Unibep and Budimex, have submitted bids in the tender procedure that will select the contractor for the expansion and modernization of the Pomeranian Philharmonic. Ultimately, these two firms are competing to win the contract. We estimate that this currently most important cultural investment project will cost 400 million PLN, with the majority of funding coming from the regional budget.

Pomeranian Philharmonic is an institution of great stature and deserves every zloty invested in it. The expansion and modernization of this important artistic venue on the cultural map of the city, region, and country is currently the most significant project in this investment segment in the region,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The future new part of the complex will include, among other things, a small concert hall with seating for at least 350 people, a stage for a 30-member orchestra and a 30-member choir, as well as professional sound and lighting systems and facilities for artists. An underground parking system is also planned. A new feature will be a publishing salon combined with an artistic café, which will also serve as a space for art exhibitions. Plans also include opening a publicly accessible restaurant.

The current main concert hall, appreciated in Poland and abroad for its excellent acoustics, will be carefully renovated to the highest standards. One of the key objectives is to preserve its unique acoustic qualities. It will also be equipped with professional facilities for recording concerts and broadcasting them on television and online, as well as modern lighting and sound control systems and much-needed air conditioning for both the stage and the audience.
