We’re Going to Ciechocinek!
Thirteen pairs of trains on weekdays and ten on weekends will begin regular service to our most famous spa town starting Sunday (14 December). Launching the Ciechocinek route has been made possible thanks to cooperation between the regional government—which oversees passenger rail transport in the region—the company managing national rail infrastructure, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK), and local governments: Aleksandrów County, the towns of Aleksandrów Kujawski and Ciechocinek, and the Aleksandrów Kujawski commune.
“Acting as the organizer of regional transport, the provincial government consistently strives to develop the rail network. Ciechocinek, an important tourist and spa destination in Poland, fully deserves convenient, modern, and regular train connections,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
Timetable effective from 14 December
The first train will depart on Sunday from platform 1 at Toruń Główny station at 10:13 and will arrive beneath Ciechocinek’s graduation towers at 10:43.
For passengers traveling to Ciechocinek from various parts of Poland, the station in Aleksandrów Kujawski will serve as an important interchange, as long-distance national carriers also stop there.
For the route Aleksandrów Kujawski–Ciechocinek, all passengers will pay a symbolic one złoty per ticket until 15 February 2026. After this period, a special offer for seniors aged 65+ will be introduced, with tickets costing only 4 złoty.
Passengers will travel to Ciechocinek aboard trains operated by Polregio, selected through a public tender. The regional government will allocate 32 million złoty over the next five years to maintain this service.

A New Station
The launch of these services follows a 47-million-złoty renovation of the railway infrastructure carried out by PKP PLK on the Aleksandrów Kujawski–Ciechocinek section. The project included the replacement of 12,000 railway sleepers, renovation of 8 level crossings, and modernization of platforms in Ciechocinek, Odolion, and Aleksandrów Kujawski.

Renovation of the Railway Line to Ciechocinek
The company responsible for managing railway properties, PKP SA, will carry out renovations of the currently secured station building, with the results to be presented next year. Until the work is completed, passengers will be served at a temporary station.
Consistent Investment in Rail
The Kujawsko-Pomorskie self-government coordinates passenger rail transport in the region and is subsidizing it this year with 237 million złoty. This includes compensation payments for Arriva and Polregio, as well as costs for access to rail infrastructure and station fees—amounting to 31.3 million złoty.
We have also purchased and now own three-quarters of the trains (37 units) serving passenger connections in our region. In 2027, seven new modern electric trains manufactured by Pesa in Bydgoszcz will enter service.
