Railway Services Under the New Timetable
Twenty-five new connections, thirteen pairs of trains to Ciechocinek, and more weekend services are the most important changes in the new train timetable that will come into effect on 14 December. The details were presented on Friday (5 December) during a meeting with journalists by Marshal Piotr Całbecki and Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska, together with representatives of the operators Arriva and Polregio.
“We continue to break records in rail transport,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “This year, 8.5 million passengers will use our services, and next year we will subsidize railway transport with a record quarter of a billion zlotys so that residents of the region can travel cheaply, comfortably, and safely using our modern rolling stock.”
“It will be a good year for the railway,” assures Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska. “Our trains will travel 7.5 million kilometers—13 percent more than this year. We will introduce 25 new connections and extend the routes of another nine services to make transfers easier for passengers traveling by other trains.”
On 14 December, Ciechocinek will return to Poland’s railway map. Thirteen pairs of trains will run from Aleksandrów Kujawski to the spa town on weekdays and ten pairs on weekends.

On the Toruń–Mogilno route we will introduce two new connections, including one coordinated in Gniezno with Greater Poland Railways, giving passengers traveling from Poznań to Toruń a sixth pair of trains. Additionally, the morning train from Gniezno will be extended to Toruń East station.
More trains will also serve the Mogilno–Bydgoszcz route (via Inowrocław). Six new trains will operate on working days and weekends. On this line, two services will also be extended to Kaliska Kujawskie.
Bydgoszcz will gain new connections. An additional train will depart from the city on the Brda River toward Łódź, and thus also toward Toruń and Jabłonowo Pomorskie. On the Bydgoszcz–Kołobrzeg route, trains will run in both directions every day of the week.
Trains launched in the summer from Bydgoszcz to Tuchola and Chełmża and from Toruń to Grudziądz, Skępe, and Sierpc will remain in the timetable.
During the summer holidays, the popular seasonal trains to well-known leisure destinations will return. “Rybitwa” will once again run from Toruń East to Kołobrzeg, and the “Borsuk” will take passengers to Tleń, Osie, and Czersk (Pomeranian Voivodeship). The “Barnim”—the daily train from Bydgoszcz to Szczecin—will also remain in the timetable.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the rail operators providing regional passenger services: Arriva RP – Vice President Marcin Polewicz, Head of the Timetable Department Michał Szczyżański, and spokesperson Joanna Parzniewska; and Polregio – Head of the Department for Transport, Maintenance and Dispatching Grażyna Dalak-Ożóg and spokesperson of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Branch in Bydgoszcz Aleksandra Pukas.
Next year, our regional passenger trains will once again increase the number of kilometers traveled. In total, they will cover nearly 7.5 million kilometers—1.3 million more than this year.
We will also increase spending on rail transport, reaching as much as 267 million zlotys. Access to rail infrastructure and station fees will account for 37 million zlotys.
In 2027, seven new modern electric trains manufactured by Bydgoszcz-based Pesa will enter service, supplementing the rolling stock of which 75 percent is owned by the regional government.
