Road Investments Around Włocławek

A comprehensive modernization of the entire 11-kilometer stretch of Regional Road No. 268 from Brzezie to Brześć Kujawski in Włocławek County is currently underway. In Wieniec, construction of a stormwater drainage system has begun. In addition to rebuilding the roadway, the investment also includes the construction of a pedestrian and bicycle path. In Włocławek County, further road renovations and pedestrian crossing lighting upgrades will soon begin.

We are maintaining a very strong pace in road modernization across our region, particularly visible in the southeastern part of the region, emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki. The thorough modernization of the route from Brzezie to Brześć Kujawski will, among other benefits, improve access to the Brześć Economic Zone. Soon, we will begin upgrading more regional roads.

The scope of the modernization includes laying new pavement layers, reconstructing intersections, building bus bays and platforms, and equipping the road with safety elements such as barriers, traffic signs, and illuminated pedestrian crossings. A pedestrian and bicycle path will run along the entire route. In Wieniec and Brzezie, stormwater drainage construction is also planned. Advanced work is underway along Klonowa Street, with traffic regulated by temporary signals. In other sections, ditches will be created to ensure proper road drainage. A utility corridor will also be built alongside the road to allow future installation of networks (e.g., telecommunications) without disturbing the road structure.

The contractor has completed the subbase and first pavement layers between Brzezie and Wieniec and between Wieniec and Stary Brześć-Parcele. The bridge in Wieniec has been renovated. The intersection with the access road to the logistics center is currently under reconstruction. Once the road investment permit is obtained, construction of the pedestrian and bicycle route along the entire road will begin, including reconstruction of the sections running through Brzezie, Wieniec, and Stary Brześć.

The project is being carried out by a consortium of Kobylarnia SA and Mirbud SA. The total cost exceeds PLN 62 million, funded by the regional budget and the Government’s Strategic Investment Program under the Polish Deal. Completion is scheduled for mid-2026.

Upcoming road projects in Włocławek County starting this year:

  • Modernization of Regional Road No. 270, section Milżyn – Skaszyn (3.25 km)
