Regional Specialist Hospital in Włocławek: Construction and Equipment Procurement in Progress

As announced by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, construction work has resumed at the Regional Specialist Hospital complex in Włocławek on the new wing, which will serve as the future main hospital building. At the same time, the hospital is expanding its invasive cardiology department—having just purchased a state-of-the-art biplane angiograph for this purpose. There are also plans to acquire a surgical robot.

The new angiograph, costing 4.5 million PLN and funded through the government’s National Cardiovascular Disease Program, is the second such device at the Włocławek facility. It enables real-time three-dimensional imaging, including of changes in coronary arteries, which is crucial for diagnosing and treating coronary syndromes and heart attacks. The launch is scheduled for July, with adaptation works currently underway in the room where the machine will be installed.

Budimex, the contractor for the second phase of the hospital expansion, has two years to complete construction of the new five-story main building of the hospital. It will house the emergency room and hospital emergency department, the main surgical block, maternity ward, intensive care unit, inpatient wards, endoscopy lab, hospital pharmacy, and sterilization unit. A helipad for medical air rescue helicopters will be installed on the roof. After completion of the first phase, the building remains in a closed shell state.
