Weekend with culture

Concerts, performances and exhibitions are proposed by the Marshal’s cultural institutions for the coming weekend. Already on Friday (11 April), the Symphony Orchestra of the Pomeranian Philharmonic conducted by Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk will play compositions by Ravel, Gershwin, Berstein and Tansman. Also performing with the orchestra will be Aldona Cisewska (violin), Wojciech Kołaczyk (viola), Maciej Kamrowski (cello) and Marcin Sikorski (piano).

 

Luigi Boccherini’s moving work ‘Stabat Mater’ will be performed on Palm Sunday (13 April) at the Pomeranian Philharmonic by Capella Bydgostiensis, conducted by Maciej Tarnawski, and soprano Anna Wilk.

 

The Gallery and Centre for Children’s Artistic Creation invites you to its branch in the Mill of Culture for the new exhibition ‘O rety! Portraits!’. New exhibitions can be seen at the headquarters in the New Town Square from Friday (11 April): ‘Wonders of Garlands. Folklore in the visual arts of children and young people’ and works by students of the Tallinna Vanalinna Kunstikeskus art school in Tallinn.

 

Mozart’s opera ‘The Magic Flute’, directed by Matthias Remus, is invited by Opera Nova. Performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (11, 12 and 13 April).

 

In the Horzyca Theatre on Thursday and Friday (10-11 April) ‘The Miracle’ directed by Grzegorz Wisniewski, and from Friday to Sunday (11-13 April) ‘The Cherry Orchard’ directed by Łukasz Kos.

 

The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Cultural Centre invites you to events in the ‘Beautiful Poland All of Us’ series: a concert by the Biele band on Friday (11 April); a workshop of songs from the Suwałki Region with Julita Charytoniuk on Sunday (12 April).

 

The opening of Paulina Żuk’s exhibition Gore on Friday (11 April) at the Wozownia Art Gallery.
